Hey backers!

With the campaign over and funds released, we're getting to work on the back end of this campaign. :D I'm going to cover what you should expect in the coming months, and how you'll be seeing your rewards.

Updates

We typically update every other month. Publishing is a slow moving industry, file prep can take weeks, and printing/shipping can take months. So instead of filling your notifications with empty updates, it's our policy to update every other month to keep communication lines open - or sooner if we have big news. So, at any time, if you feel it's been too long since you've gotten an update, double check the dates: We're probably just about to post one. ;)

Reward Surveys

We'll be using BackerKit to run our reward surveys. We're working on those right now(!) and you should expect to see those in your inboxes next week. 

Add-ons/Stretch Goals

We didn't quite reach our stretch goal for color, but there's still a chance! We'll be counting any monies raised on BackerKit toward our total goal. So if we reach that goal with add-ons and preorders, the book will be coming to you in color!! Additionally, we'll be unlocking the chronological edition of the book. So if you were looking to get both editions of Alex Priest, you'll be able to add that to your reward survey!

Digital Copies

These will be sent out via BackerKit post survey. They'll be delayed a bit, mostly to see if we're sticking to black and white or if we'll be releasing in color (which they'll be delayed a bit longer). 

Conventions???

We'll be at Emerald City Comic Con this year(!) on the main showfloor with other publishers. If you're in town for the event, stop by and say hi!

Hey Backers!

We did it! The trade-paperback of Alex Priest is funded, and the book will be going to print this year. We're in the final hours of our campaign, and shy of our stretch goal for color. 

SO HERE ARE OUR PLANS

We'll be utilizing BackerKit for pledge management. Additionally, we'll be including the Kickstarter exclusive chronological edition as an add-on. 

Why an add-on when the stretch goal wasn't met?

I'm so glad you asked! We're reworking the contents of the chronological edition (or CE so I don't have to keep typing that) to strip it down a bit. The official trade-paperback will have cover art and other materials breaking up the issues, and it'll contain extra goodies in the back of the book. The CE won't contain any of this. The original intent for the CE was to present all the Alex Priest stories we've created in a fun and unique way. So by stripping it down to just comics - no filler - it's now an add-on that we can provide now without a stretch goal. 

What does this have to do with the color stretch goal?

Ah yes. Back to my original point. It doesn't look like we're going to hit that 7k goal on Kickstarter. However! We will be taking into account any and all add-ons purchased through the BackerKit pledge manager. If our overall total meets that 7k goal, we'll consider the goal met and Alex priest will be released in color! 

What about the other stretch goals?

I mean. Yes. Sure. If you blow us away and raise a total of 10-12k on BackerKit, we'll unlock those goals as well. 

Will there be additional add-ons available on BackerKit?

Probably :)

Hey folks!

We're just shy of a week left in our campaign, and our goal is within our reach! Let's crush this goal and make a great book!

Push/Pull is a comic shop in Seattle. Not only do they provide a space for independent and queer comics, but they've also created a space for creative learning. They're currently on Kickstarter, raising funds to help publish alternative comics and zines.

We're 50% Funded!

This week we'll be adding some exciting add-ons. Some of you expressed excitement for pins, so we'll be adding two pin options for add-ons! We'll be utilizing reward add-ons instead of creating new reward tiers - we want to make sure no one loses their free shipping tiers. ;)

Some FAQs You Had

Hear it here first before we officially update things: 

Retailer Packs - These are intended for any organization needing multiple copies. This includes comic shops, bookstores, and any other retailers. But also(!) libraries, schools, book clubs, student organizations -- this list isn't exhaustive either. :)

Signed Copies - Because of the extra shipping between the creators that this would require, signed copies will be added as an add-on. If you want it autographed by writer and artist, you can add that option to your pledge.
